Detection based on transparency blocks
Splitter Settings
Treat pixels with alpha below this as transparent.
Add extra transparent space around extracted layers.
Batch Apply
Apply settings to all images
Downloads all extracted layers from all images.
Why Use Our Layer Splitter?
Stop manual cropping. Our advanced transparency detection engine extracts individual components from your designs automatically and in bulk.
Auto-Detection
Our algorithm identifies connected pixel islands surrounded by transparency, automatically defining the boundaries for each extracted layer.
Batch Sprite Splitting
Upload multiple sprite sheets or icon sets. The tool splits every file in your queue simultaneously, saving hours of manual work.
Browser-Side Privacy
All image analysis and extraction occur locally. Your designs never leave your browser, ensuring maximum security and privacy.
How to Split Image Layers
Upload Transparent Assets
Drag and drop images with transparent backgrounds (PNG, WebP, etc.). Works with sprite sheets and multi-part designs.
Adjust Detection
Use the Alpha Threshold slider to fine-tune what pixels are treated as "empty". Add padding if needed.
Download ZIP
Review detected layers in the list. Click download to get all individual elements in a single ZIP archive.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work with opaque backgrounds?
The current tool relies on transparency (alpha channel) to separate layers. For images with solid backgrounds, we recommend using a background remover first.
Can it split overlapped elements?
If two elements are touching or overlapping, they will be detected as a single block. Ensure there is at least a 1-pixel transparent gap between elements for separation.
Is there a file size limit?
The limit depends on your browser and RAM. Generally, it can handle images up to 8000x8000 pixels. Large batches are processed sequentially to prevent crashes.
